About us
Drangi Law Firm is an Icelandic law firm led by attorney Guðjón Rúnarsson. Guðjón spent two decades representing the interests of Icelandic business, most of that time in the financial sector, including 16 years as Managing Director of the Icelandic Financial Services Association.
The firm has a particular focus on corporate, contract and competition law, and also advises on advocacy towards Icelandic authorities and other parties.
Clients work directly with Guðjón at every stage of a matter. For international clients, this means a single, senior point of contact in Iceland, with long experience of the Icelandic regulatory environment and of working with Icelandic authorities. Where a matter calls for additional resources, Drangi can draw on other Icelandic law firms and specialists on a case-by-case basis.

Know Your Customer (KYC) and anti-money laundering
As an Icelandic law firm, Drangi is subject to Act No. 140/2018 on Measures against Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing. Before entering into a client relationship, we carry out client due diligence (KYC), which includes verifying the identity of our clients and their beneficial owners and, where relevant, the source of funds. The scope of the due diligence is determined by a risk assessment, which takes into account, among other things, the nature of the business and the jurisdictions involved.
